All smiles as £10,000 cheque from M2’s first Mulvey Cup Day presented to Cancer Research.
It was all smiles as a cheque for £10,000 was presented to Natasha Foxford, Local Fundraising Manager for Cancer Research by David Knowles, Northern Regional Sales Director at Manchester Headquartered M2. The funds were raised during the inaugural M2 Mulvey Cup Day, honouring the memory of popular colleague Steve Mulvey who passed away in 2016 following a brief fight with cancer.
Joining David to present the cheque were colleagues Juliet Frost, Joe Werner and Katrina Ralphs – all members of the organising team for the M2 Mulvey Cup Golf and BBQ Charity Event. David Knowles explained:
“When we set a target to raise £10,000 we believed it was going to be a stiff challenge but we were overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of our colleagues and the support of our sponsors in helping us realise our ambition. In addition to those taking part in the Golf Day itself many other members of the M2 team marked the day with fundraisers back at the office.
“The M2 Board were the main event sponsors. In addition our business partners Ricoh, Canon, Nuance and HP, along with our parent company SCC all supported our fundraising drive. They, and some of our key customers donated prizes for the Raffle and the Auction and the auction alone raised over £3,000 which helped massively towards our target of £10,000.”
John Taylor, CEO at M2 said:
“Raising £10,000 for Cancer Research is a great achievement and I’d like to thank David and his organising committee, our sponsors and indeed all my colleagues at M2 who have made this possible. We intend to repeat this event annually so that our colleagues, our customers and our partners can join together to remember Steve, celebrate his life and continue fundraising in his memory.
M2 has a great tradition in actively supporting worthy causes and, in addition to Cancer Research, we’ve also recently raised money for and donated to our other chosen charities Macmillan Cancer support and the Teenage Cancer Trust.”
